Strong Companies Get Stronger in Downturns… Would Yours?
Alfred Marcus, Director of the Carlson School’s Strategic Management Research Center and author of
Big Winners and Big Losers, has been researching the effect good and bad economic times have on the number of companies that win and lose. While the strong get stronger, the weak get weaker—the business world’s law of natural selection. He says the findings are important because bad economic times test the prowess of strategic management teams for managing change.
I submit that the same is true for sales organizations as well.
